Who orders finger buffet catering?
Finger buffet catering orders come in from all over London. We deal with corporate events managers, PR agencies, organisations and institutions, as well as smaller companies.
In other words, our “bread and butter” clients tend to be corporate. But we also deal with private individuals and party planners. Finger buffet catering is very popular with gallery owners, for example.
What kind of events do we cater for?
Given its flexibility, finger buffet catering is great for all kinds of events. It’s just as well suited to an all-day corporate event or conference as it is to an evening reception. We also frequently cater open days (e.g. universities), exhibitions, product launches, and so on.
Many organisations love the ease of finger buffet catering for meetings and training days too. Alternatively, it’s a good everyday working lunch option.
At the other end of the spectrum, we supply finger buffet catering for parties both large and small. From laid-back summer boat parties to formal wedding receptions, we do it all.
Why Smith’s finger buffets?
With Smith’s creative finger buffet catering you’re guaranteed convenience, experience, and ease.
Convenience
Freshly made and ready to serve, all you need to enjoy our finger buffet catering is a plate and a serviette. Both are supplied, of course, along with anything else you need.
Experience
- The sheer variety of past clients – and therefore venues, event types, etc. – has allowed us to hone our craft. Nowadays, this experience is why we’re sought out – especially for larger events.
Ease
- In the corporate catering sector, ease is of the utmost importance. That’s why we’ve streamlined our ordering process. It’s now entirely online
What kind of finger buffet do we offer?
A mix of cooked buffet items and usually sandwiches (one sandwich per person as standar
All our menus are fresh on the day and delivered “dressed out.” In other words, they’re presented ready to serve.
Named in honour of London’s great markets, each showcases the finest produce the city has to offer. We only work with suppliers who share our high standards.
But while each menu (and pricing tier) is balanced to maximise value, you’re free to mix and match your own. Just let us know and we’ll price it up for you.
How do you order?
Once you’re happy with your menu selections, you can place your order online. Just let us know any special dietary requirements, as allergens aren’t always clear from the menus.
The ordering process is simple:
- Make sure you’ve reached the minimum order of 40 people
- Pay a 50% deposit seven working days before your event – unless you have an account with us. (The balance is then payable in the next 30 days.)
- Give us your final guest count by noon two working days in advance.
Other things to consider
That’s pretty much it for standard finger buffet catering. Depending on your needs, though, you may also want to think about the following.
Finger buffet catering isn’t set; the menus are only a guide. While many clients order our suggestions as is, others decide to mix and match their own. Either way is fine. You’re more than welcome to make your own menu. You might want to combine Billingsgate and Smithfield, for example, or add extra vegan alternatives.
Although popular throughout the year, finger buffet catering does get booked up in the party seasons. In fact, we can sell out months in advance. Even early October can be too late for Christmas, so book early to avoid disappointment.
All finger buffet catering menus can be adapted to meet dietary requirements. With the exception of kosher (which we cannot supply), we’re familiar with all common needs. Actually, from vegan to halal, most are met by the menus as they are. For specifically gluten- and dairy-free menus, however, make sure you ask us when you order.
We’re experienced with a vast range of finger buffet events and venues, so we know how requirements vary. Often you’ll need more than just the food. Fortunately, as a full-service events caterer, we can help.
In addition to your menus, we can provide:
- Chafing dishes
- Buffet tables
- Linens
- Crockery (incl. white porcelain or vintage china)
- Cutlery
- Marquees
Although generally not applicable (except sometimes for events with drinks), we can also provide waiting staff.
We supply a wide range of drinks at sale-or-return or wine rates. This includes free glass hire.
Where do we deliver finger food?
We deliver to venues throughout South London (plus Southeast/west) and Greater London, including Surrey and Kent.
The fee, calculated by postcode, must be finalised by 12 noon three working days before the event. If your needs change after this time, we’ll increase the fee to match – but it cannot be lowered.
As standard, your menu selections will arrive on disposable black platters ready to serve. If hiring crockery from us (or other extras/equipment), there’ll be a collection charge as well as the delivery charge. This is also calculated by postcode.
